Expressionism is a style of art, literature, and music that uses symbols and exaggeration to represent emotions, rather than representing physical reality. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, many events and new artists have emerged and changed the culture of fashion, music, and the artwork all-around them. Expressionism was influenced by many other past artists. It was the new Modern Art of the time period for all of these upcoming artist. Types of Modern art of the time period.Fauvism, Cubism, Futurism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism. This gives an artist permission to distort image an image, in order to better convey emotions or spirit.
During the artworks of Expressionism, many artists have made some of their artwork become very popular with the distortion and remakes of other arts. Some famous artwork from the 1800s would be, “The Scream” (1893) Artist: Edvard Munch. This artist has managed lots throughout his artistic career. He mainly focused on death, agony, and anxiety. Edvard Munch Was one to use the distortion in his artwork and he would truly express his emotions in the pieces of art. The Scream evokes the jolting emotion of the encounter and exhibits a general anxiety toward the tangible world.
