Are teenage today depressed? Nowadays, the cases of suicide among youngsters, unfortunately, occur in every corner of the world. It is found that suicide rate amongst people who are diagnosed with depression are 22-36 times more likely to kill themselves. This rate is disturbing as more and more young people are diagnosed with depression and other mental disorders. These statements show that a lot of problems that relate to teenage today caused by depression. Teenage depression is one of the serious problems that must be solved. Therefore, we must know the sources of the problems in order to solve it. There are a lot of causes of depression among teenagers.

The main cause of teenage depression is the parents’ demanding for teenagers’ success. A lot of parents want their children in all age include teenagers, succeed in the study to ensure their children have the better life in the future. There is not wrong to have the hope like that, but most of parents give their high hope or unrealistic hope to their children achievement. These parents use to set the rules which are not rational for their children. For the example, they set their children carrier in the future without asking what their children want to be or scold them if they do not follow what had been set to them. The irrational rules and unrealistic hopes that being set to the children achievements will cause them depressed and trauma if they do not achieve the target set by their parents.

The next cause is teenagers have financial problems. In this era of globalization and development, people tend to have high standard cost of living, which cause them to have financial problems. This situation also happens to teenagers, who are still young and need to achieve their dream in the future. All of us know that at this young age, teenager spend most of their times in studying.
