Computer systems analysts employed in this industry often serve as consultants. For example, if Hamilton township schools want to upgrade its computer systems they might hire a firm from this industry. The company has computer systems analysts on staff to study the systems the school system is currently using and recommend areas for improvement. Computer systems analysts also expedite organizations that want to switch all or part of their systems to cloud computing. From 2010 to 2020, employment of computer systems analysts in computer systems design and related services is projected to grow 43 percent.
