Dream Vacation Essay

688 words - 3 pages

A couple days ago, I read an interesting anecdote. It is all about time, money, and dream vacation. It says “there are at least two impulses in the whole life. One is for love without concerning consequence, and the other is for a travel without delay.” Basically, the main idea of the story is when we are young, we have so such time to spare and full of energy, but not enough money in our pocket so we cannot travel around the world. As we are growing up, we spend more time on working just for money, but less time with our family and all. Finally, we become old, at that time, we have enough money to do whatever we want, plenty of time to do everything, but we may not have energy to even go on a dream trip. Everyone dreams of going on a perfect vacation at with their family and friends at some time during their lives. However, there are some similarities and differences between a dream vacation and a real vacation.
First, the quality of environment is always the basic element when I decide to go on a vacation. I have been so many places in my life, but the most memorable place is Gulangyu. This is a car-free island off the coast of my hometown which is located in the southern of China. I have always dreamed of traveling on a small island that can take my attention away from the normal life because I need some peace and quiet. Going to Gulangyu could be a dream come true, it is so beautiful to see the sun set on the beach, and smell the fresh air under this nice weather. After traveling from city to city seeing the same architecture, it is a nice change to visit the colonial building over there. Another attraction of this small island is that there are a lots of great stores with unique feature. Overall, my dream destination will not be like Paris or Rome, but somewhere like Gulangyu which is unique and memerable.
Moreover, my...
