My Core Values and Behaviors
The core values that I chose for myself are challenges, loyalty, perseverance, adventure, and service. The values above describe the person that I am, as I love a challenge and to problem solve. At my job co-worker will often come to me if they cannot solve a problem. I am always happy to help them solve the problem as I enjoy digging into things and discovering a solution. I feel that each problem that I solve is a learning experience and will help down the road if I or someone else happens to encounter the same problem.
Loyalty is also a strong core value of mine and is demonstrated in my life. I have been married for 35 years, which is a strong indicator of ...view middle of the document...
I enjoy helping people as it makes me happy when I can do something for them and perhaps make their day a little easier and happier than before they came to see me.
Lastly, and the funniest core value to me is an adventure. I love, love to travel and see new things in life. I like to experience and learn new things where ever I travel. Why would one want to hand a job to someone that never put any energy into learning and growing as their fear would be that they would handle the job in the same way?
Behaviors Expected of Me
With my core values being challenges, loyalty, perseverance, adventure, and service my expected behaviors would be integrity, courage, transcendence, and wisdom. I name these because if one is to remain loyal and have perseverance, then one must have the courage and integrity as there are going to be times when one's loyalty is challenged and it takes courage to stand up for what one believes. In addition, it takes courage to persevere through tough times rather it is in life or in one’s job. If one does not have the courage then they will likely give up and not achieve the goals that they are working towards in life.
One practices transcendence and wisdom when they are adventurous as they are going outside of their comfort zone and experiencing things or ideas that they normally would not be exposed to in everyday life. They are exposing their selves to things that will help them grow as and become a better leader and person as it will increase their awareness of...
