During this time I have maintained an intellectual interest in politics, law and the social sciences. Having left school, worked and experienced life I am now ready to re-engage in formal study. This included food preparation, stock control, delegation, menu design, supervision, front of house, cooking to order, catering volume orders etc. Due to the high level of tourism in Daylesford on weekends and during the holiday periods, I was introduced to a fast paced, team reliant workplace from around 14 years old and had grown used to the environment by the time i started full-time in the industry.

Upon setting out to learn more about these particular subjects, I would notice a strange shift of perception upon researching a subject of personal interest; I found, for the first time I was able to apply the same work ethic and discipline developed during my time at various workplaces. It was at this time I realized that learning and physical work both required a very similar drive.
I now know that I am at a level of maturity and drive to further develop my academic knowledge and believe I am now able to apply the same level of commitment, high standard of determination and pride learned within the workforce, toward academic challenges. I am interested in developing a better understanding of the politic system that governs our country, and feel it necessary to understand the structure to learn more about the party systems and their particular ideologies.
