Tras citas con distintos médicos y sin encontrar ninguna respuesta acerca de su enfermedad, su madre comienza una investigación acerca del comportamiento involuntario de su hijo. Descubre que padece de Síndrome de Tourette, una enfermedad muy poco conocida y con la desgracia de no tener cura. Transmite inmediatamente esto al director de la escuela quien actúa rápidamente para poner fin a las burlas con las que el alumno padece a diario. Cree conveniente poner al tanto de la situación a todos los alumnos y maestros de la escuela. Después de un concierto de música, el Director le pide a Brad que suba al estrado para hablar acerca de su enfermedad y de esa manera educar a los profesores sobre este síndrome. Esta acción ayuda a Brad a ser mejor comprendido y aceptado por todos.Es una historia que termina con un final feliz cuando el protagonista es aceptado a trabajar en una escuela para alumnos de segundo grado, nivel primario. Su mayor logro fue sentir que fue aceptado por sus propios alumnos sin prejuicios ni burlas. El es una persona capaz de lograr lo que se propone sin dejar de luchar por su sueño de convertirse en un excelente maestro.El maestro Cohen siempre menciona que su mejor maestro es su enfermedad, quien le enseñó a perserverar en la vida y a no darse por vencido.
