Education has been considered as a top priority and will continue to be considered as the top most priority, in the growing competition for success. Education is the single greatest gift one can give to oneself. The importance of college education has become far more important today than it was ever before. Fifty years back, college education was only for the elite and upper class people. The average did well in life even without any college education. The importance of college education now has increased to a point where it has become the necessary admission ticket to good jobs and a middle-class lifestyle. The transition into college is a vital and the most critical step in one’s life. In this regard, it is imperative that one performs well through their high school career and starts to plan on what they are going to do after college and which college they would be willing to go to accomplish this. This essay explains in detail the future college plan of an ambitious student who aspires to become a doctor. According to the student, today, the medical profession is one of the noblest professions giving the ultimate job satisfaction. He further details how he is going to pursue his dream profession, and more specifically which university he wants to go to pursue the field of study that he wants to undertake.
It was one of the most challenging tasks the student to pick a university as there were numerous choices out there. Internet websites and search engines were heavily used by the student for all his analysis. According to experts typical search engines like Yahoo! and Google only pick up about 1% of the information available on the Internet. Hence, in addition to college websites and typical search engines several meta-search engines such as Surfwax and “Academic Index” also have been used in this academic research. After careful research and analysis, three colleges have been short-listed first, from which eventually the student chose UGA as his first preference. Several critical information that the student gathered during the course of his research is documented in this article. According to the student, he has several compelling reasons for choosing UGA. UGA has been around for more than 225 years and features as one of the top public universities for higher education in every reputed university ranking system. It has been rated as #62 in the whole US by U.S News. After careful evaluation he also found that, UGA offers a culture of academic excellence. Further the academic opportunities are made richer by their renowned faculty, diverse community of scholar-citizens and vibrant student life program. The in-state tuition fees are much lower compared to other colleges in GA, which is pretty good news.
