Gap Inc. is a leading international retailer which offers clothing, accessories and other products for men, women, children and babies. Gap Inc. includes the brand names of the Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. Gap brand consists of a variety of stores including Gap, GapKids, babyGap, GapBody and Gap Outlet. Gap Inc. was founded in 1969 by Donald and Doris Fisher in San Francisco, California. They had started the company with a single store and a handful of employees to launch their operations. Today, Gap Inc. is an international company with almost 165,000 employees supporting the company's three distinct brands--Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy. Gap Inc. operates more than 4,200 stores worldwide. Their stores are located in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Japan, and Germany.One of Gap Inc.'s most popular brands, Gap, has supplied its customers with clothing and accessories that enhance their style. Since its beginning in 1969, Gap has provided great style, value and service to their customers. It has become one of the world's most distinguished brands with stores located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, and Germany. Over the past years, Gap has expanded its fashion and service into other divisions including GapKids, babyGap, and GapBody. Gap now offers clothing for men, women, children, and babies. GapBody offers accessories which incorporates the Gap sense of style along with products that improve their customers' appearance. Gap is clothing for everyday lifestyle which is probably why it has become a well-liked brand around the world.Banana Republic, on the other hand, is more of a casual and classy look for its customers. The clothes are more upscale because of its high-quality. Founded in 1978, Banana Republic has grown into one of the United States' largest apparel retailers. Banana is known for its modern and versatile clothing, as well as its home collection, shoes, accessories, personal care products, and intimate apparel. Today, Banana is more of a popular brand name among customers who shop for a luxurious and distinctive appearance.The most affordable of the Gap brand names is Old Navy.
