IntroductionOn February the 25th 2009, almost sixteen years after the Bijlmerramp and thirteen years after the disaster with the Hercules in Eindhoven, again, Holland was startled by a plane crash of huge extent. Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 was a passenger flight, a Boeing 737, that crashed near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and ended up in a meadow, next to highway A9. The plane broke into three pieces. Nine passengers and crew including all three pilots were killed and there were 86 injuries. This crisis caused a lot of commotion in the Netherlands, but other state were also involved, such as Turkey as the State of registration and State of operator, the United States, because the plane was manufactured there, and at the end France because the engines of the plane were manufactured there (Dutch Safety Board, 2009). How could this happen, was it a human mistake, a technical error or a combination? This paper will give an insight look on this crisis and will be assisted by the general accident scenario. The general accident scenario is launched by W.A. Wagenaar, P.T.W.Hudson and J.T.
