Everest
Hey there! I’m on the Summit of big ol’ Mt. Everest. You know theres a lot of neat stuff about Everest. It is the tallest mountain on Earth at 29,035 ft tall and it is still growing. It is located in China, Tibet and Nepal and 60 million years old. It was formed by two tectonic plates jostling up against each other and forming the mountain growing a centimeter every year. This mountain can be snowy, cold, have winds up to 180 mph, be -75F or be sunny warm and 90F. Everyone (including me) who climbs this mountain needs oxygen tanks because of the high altitude (ya pretty scary). Sir George Everest discovered the mountain therefore its name in 1841. He decided to do something about it. Then he created the religion Buddhism that would help with the wanting problem. There were four rules or Noble Truths: 1. all life is suffering, 2. the cause of suffering is desire, 3. it is possible to overcome suffering, 4 follow the eightfold path to NIRVANA. Nirvana was a state of mind that could only be accomplished by following the eightfold path. Nirvana is when you leave want behind and there is no suffering; almost like a state of meditation. Buddhism is one the most popular religions in Asia.
Now I’m in Henan, China Birth town of Lao Tzu or Laozi depending on what you call him. Lao Tzu was a great religious philosopher who created Taoism or Daoism (again depending on what you all it) which means essentially that everything is what it is and if there is this then there is that. The symbol for it is the Ying-Yang sign which you may have seen before. For example his theory kind of shows that if there is cold there must be hot and if there is good then there must be evil. Lao Tzu had many famous quotes that you may have heard or not.
Hey there, at the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. This 2.5 km stretch of wall in a valley 22 towers is a great place to visit because of the few tourists that visit here compared to the other areas of the wall. Built 300 years ago to protect China from invasion was 60 km North of Beijing, China. Though made of brick and mortar it did its job because of its size. It was finished during the Northern Qi Dynasty and repaired by the other Dynasties and still is maintained today.
