Global Warming Essay

846 words - 4 pages

“Global warming is the usually rapid increase in Earth’s average surface temperature,
over the past century primarily due to green house gases released as people burn fossil
fuels.”(“Cause of Global Warming”) Global warming is a dangerous and complicated issue that
not many people know about. Over the past 250 years, people have been releasing greenhouse
gases into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels. Many factors cause global warming, most are
by humans. The carbon dioxide over the years has increased much more rapidly now.
“Since the industrial revolution began in about 1750’s, carbon dioxide levels have
increased nearly thirty-eight percent.” (“Cause of Global Warming”)
“ It was not until 1950’s that scientists had discovered that the carbon dioxide levels
had increase in the atmosphere and realized it might be a threat. In 1960’s many
scientists’ predicted in 2000 the atmosphere would be really bad that it would be the
cause of climate change.” (“Global Warming Timeline”)
The United States President focused on spreading the news to the nation, but at that time
global warming was not a threat so many ignored the signs. However, it was not until 1990 that
global warming started to affect the people by climate
change. “The effect of climate change on
human beings’ health was in focus in 1990s. The issue has not only attracted the experts, but
also made the general public worried.” (Moseley Jonathon)

People using cars and factories sending out carbon dioxide in the atmosphere everyday
eventually adds up. Scientists have discovered that ninety percent of the global warming is from
green-house gases. All the chemicals in the air eventually will start to harm many people and
children. During the past 250 years many people around the world have polluted the atmosphere
in some sort of way. This added thirty- eight percent of pollution in the whole atmosphere.
In addition to cars and factories, deforesting is another way of global warming.
Deforestation is a major effect on global warming. Deforestation is when trees are cut down by
humans for dam building, for fuel and for clearing for livestock grazing. According to National
Geographic when more Deforestation happen it means that more CO2 will be in the air, which is
the main cause of global warming.
However, it is not all caused by humans. For example, wild forest fire is a form of
deforesting and some times is not caused by humans. This lead to forests to be reduced around ...

More gases in the atmosphere means the earth will start to get warmer, and the result is global warming. On
