Ad and dis ad of GM food
Agricultural technology has been greatly revolutionized in recent decades, leading to the introduction of genetically modified food ( GM food ). Yet there remain contentious arguments toward whether the overall effects of these food have been positive or negative, some regard this as unhealthy interference, some argue au contraire. However, both sides of GMO will be explored in this essay .
On the one hand , the genetic engineering of foods may involve risks about not only human’s health but also ecosystem as a whole. That GM food is substantially altered may exert potentially unprecedented diseases on consumers. As they are reshaped and resized, these produces undergo chemicals changes at the cellular level, which may pose harm upon digestion. Secondly, transgenic plants can promote detrimental monoculture. That is, growers will single out one favorable specimen to sow, leading to little variations in the crops. It stands that those plants will be vulnerable to the same hazard. If GMO company advocates their invention in an unidirectional manner this could very well be a reality.
