"Press on : nothing in the world can take the place of perseverance. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."Calvin Coolidge (1872 - 1933)What I want to accomplish at University of Phoenix are my determined targets, which I want to achieve through sincere perseverance. My goals at University of Phoenix are to1. Learn to enjoy studying,2. Maintain my time to be successful at studies,3. Learn leadership skills and be an effective team member,4. Build strong self esteem and confidence,5. Maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA , and6. Be open to encounter new requirements in the new era and be prepared to master the new skills.'Failure is the pillar of success.' I failed to enjoy and like my Telecommunications Engineering studies, which I think was partially due to my lack of focus and also due to the boring and monotonous class environment with a very little support structure. Contrary to my past experience, my classes for my declared management degree at Phoenix offer great flexibility, caring and interesting teachers, great accessibility to fellow class mates, a caring and ever-active counselor and 24 hrs customer supports. I desire to gradually ingrain into my mind that learning is an enjoyable experience rather than an unexciting and pressure -filled job. If I can develop this attitude while attending the online classes, I will be a successful learner all through my life, which definitely in turn makes me successful at my family and work.A major part in being an effective learner is to master the skills for Time Management. The skills class has given me a new sense of motivation to plan my time. The 'Goal settings and Time management' chapter has implanted this vision in my mind that I might also be a successful time manager. This is a quality that I always wished to achieve and have been planning on doing since my childhood, but never have been able to accomplish it. In the past, I had planned various activities weekly, giving each one of them a certain amount of time, but I never could keep up with my time-table. Here at University of Phoenix, I learnt some valuable time management skills. For instance, I should try to achieve my long term goals by carrying out a few easily attainable small goals first. Therefore, I am planning my whole day's activity every morning and starting to manage my time more effectively. I will continue my effort to put my valuable findings in the current course to be super effective in the time management in the future classes. It is my strong belief that mastering this particular skill will contribute tremendously in my lifelong pursuits.Since, my major is in Bachelor of Science in Management; I will...
