Gone In 60 Seconds Essay

"Hello ladies! I always was a sucker for a redhead". Angelina Jolie whispers as she slides into a bright red Ferrari and drives it away at record speed. Eleanor. What, you ask? You have to be living in a box if you don't know what Eleanor is. She's the unicorn. As for the rest of us, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Gone in 60 Seconds is an amazing, fast paced, sit on the edge of your seat movie. Is that my opinion? Yes it is, but there are millions of people who agree with me too. A million people can't be wrong. This movie has an excellent cast of characters that you will find yourself laughing along with them. I highly recommend this film to anyone who loves cars and ...view middle of the document...

"If his unpleasant wounding has in some way enlightened the rest of you as to the grim finish beneath the glossy veneer of criminal life and inspired you to change your ways, then his ijuries carry with it an inherent nobility, and a supreme glory. We should all be so fortunate. You say poor Toby? I say poor us." A large domineering man named Sphinx says to everyone. More importantly is the line, "What do you think is more exciting, having sex or boosting cars?' Nicholas Cage and his crew obviously think its stealing cars!
First things first, Cage and his friends have to make a list of cars, all 50 of them to steal. They have a giant chalkboard and put down the names of the cars. Except in the world of cars it is well known that you assign a car a girl's name. This chalkboard is full of womens names, from Sally to Eleanor. The crew goes to the DMV and gets a list of all their cars that they need. A shopping list of cars. They get previous theifs to help them steal the cars. From techno geeks and the man who lets the crew use his auto shop for a base of operations. Once rounded up, the boosting crew seems infamous. As the characters run around town finding cars, Venessa, Bernadine, etc. You get involved in the excitement of the film.
Stealing fifty cars in one night seems unimaginable. However, Cage and Jolie get their friends to do exactly that. Some of the cars are easy to obtain and they start filing them into the boat at the docks, as Calitri, the bad guy ordered. A common theme from start to end in this film is Eleanor. Eleanor is a 1967 Shelby Mustang. Cage has tried to boost this car before and for any to many reasons it seems to ellude him. He has never before been able to catch what he calls his "unicorn", an imaginary challenge to him. There are several reasons I love this movie. The police are chasing the crew in their stolen cars, so there are many near misses after car after car slide down the streets at breakneck speeds. Just when you think you know what is going to happen next, this movie throws you in an entirely different direction.

Assuming the conservative estimate of 1 Hz firing, this gives 40 seconds. Using the same logic, the maximum of 60 pulses on 13 May adds another 60 seconds. In
