The following assignment has the main objective to design a
recruitment process for Harrods, a British institution operating for 162
years. With a unique reputation Harrods is associated with Britain, Luxury,
Sensation and Service. In order to keep the standards of the organization
high as they were built in the operating years, the company must recruit
employees whose skills, personality and commitment are align with the
values of Harrods.
In order to keep the effectiveness and performance offered to the
customers daily in one of the best-known organizations in the whole
United Kingdom, recruitment and selection of employees is one of the
most important processes in the company. The HR Management
department of Harrods must select the candidates that best suit the
vacancy without compromising the standards of the service offered,
otherwise the main value of Harrods will be lost.
Harrods is currently recruiting a new Retail Manager for the Crystal
& Silver area out of 100 candidates; the process will cost not only
money but also time for Harrods' HR Management team. In
order to understand the whole implications of this
recruitment process is extremely important to analyse all
its phases in detail and than achieve on conclusion.
The main objectives of this assignment are:

The first step of the hiring process even if not always evident is the
attraction of candidates, specially for the vacancy offered by Harrods in
this case, Retail Manager, is important to make sure that the HR
department won't be overwhelmed with large numbers of unsuitable
applications. To avoid this kind of occurrence it is vital to make sure that
in the vacancy offer the minimum requirements to apply for the job are
