The technological advancements that were conceived during the Industrial Revolution failed to satisfy the human thirst for advancement. New ideas and ingenuities in society began to change the way that people governed one another, and improved their way of life. They wanted to advance their countries and help those countries get along in the world. Some of the most notable of these advancements being the sewing machine by Elias Howe, the telegraph by Samuel Morse, and a new piece of writing called the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

These workers worked in horrible working conditions for a horrible pay, which led to an economic gap. Relationships such as these, have always lead in fighting between the two groups. Many people wanted to find a way to end this constant battle.
Marx and Engels stated that these class struggles have been present for thousands of years. According to Marx and Engels, the bourgeoisie were the higher class of wealthy factory owners. Marx and Engels observed a second main class in their time. The proletariat was the lower class of factory workers. According to Marx and Engels, the only way to defeat class struggles was through revolution. They wanted to form a class from the proletariat population, overthrow the bourgeoisie, and give political power to the proletariat. This revolution would eventually end with a victory for the proletariat and produce a classless society, Communism. Although they called for a revolution, Marx and Engels didn’t want to see any violence, they just viewed capitalism as forcing the proletariat to be violent as the only way to balance society.
In the Communist Manifesto, Marx and Engels call for the abolition of many things including the right to inheritance, owning land, and child labor. Without the right to an inheritance, everything to be inherited would go to the country. Without the right to own land, all the land in the country would also be owned by the State. Finally with the abolition of child labor, children would be able to go to school, which under Marx and Engels’ system would be free for all. This would lead to a more educated generation, producing more advances in many different fields, which in turn would lead to a better way of living. Marx and Engels also wanted to distribute the land and property of rebels and emigrants to the people of the State.
