Wrinkles are delicate folds caused by sagging and thin skin. Wrinkles occur when the elastin and collagen present in the connective tissues of the skin is damaged or lessened in number. Skin that has weakened looses fat content, smoothness and elasticity and also appears thinner.

Symptoms of wrinkles are as follows:

o Creased and lined skin

o Dropping and baggy skin

o More affected areas include sensitive skin near the eyes, neck and lips.

Though creases are temporary but they tend to get deeper with age.

Wrinkles are natural with the ageing process but premature wrinkles are a cause of concern for many. Some of the causes for wrinkles on skin are as follows:

o Severe exposure to sun - damage cause by the ultraviolet rays is known as photo ageing.

o Smoking- it accelerate the ageing process. The mass amount of free radicals produced by the smoke is on of the leading causes of wrinkles. It can damage the skin to a great extent.

o Pollution: environmental factors such as exposure to chemicals, harsh lights, air pollutants and dust can cause wrinkles on skin.

o Repeated motions may lead to wrinkles around the eyes. They are also known as "crow's feet". Frown lines on the forehead or laugh lines around the mouth can also occur.

o Drug usage

o Prolonged Stress

o Weight loss- sudden and drastic weight loss can also cause wrinkles as the fat cells get reduced. This causes the skin to crease and sag.

o Loss of Vitamin E may cause the skin quality to get worse.

Try these simple home remedies for wrinkles if you are forced to look aged due to their premature occurrence.

 Apply egg whites under your eyes to get rid of wrinkles.

 Apply odor free castor oil around your eyes and also to the throat to prevent wrinkles.

 Pour the contents of 3 vitamin E capsules in a bowl. Now add 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt, ½ teaspoon lemon juice and 1/2 teaspoon honey. With a cotton ball apply this mixture on face. Let it stay for 1o minutes and wash off with water. This is one of the excellent home remedies for wrinkles.

 Prepare a mixture of 1/4 cup witch hazel, 1/4 cup comfrey infusion, 10 drops of patchouli essential oil. This will treat wrinkles very effectively. Store it in a clean bottle. With a cotton ball apply it on affected areas.

 Massage coconut oil on wrinkle prone skin every night before going to bed. This is a very good home remedy for wrinkles on skin.

Make a paste with turmeric and sugar cane juice and apply on the affected areas....
