TIẾNG CHUÔNG CHÙA

Hôm nay, trong lúc chờ đến giờ tụng kinh, tôi đứng ở bên ngoài Chánh Điện, từng làn gió mát thổi nhẹ nhàng bên cạnh đó là tiếng chuông Chùa trầm bổng ngân vang bay trong gió. Không biết từ lúc nào, tiếng chuông đó đã đi vào trong tâm tôi, tiếng chuông ấy đã lấy đi phiền não trong tâm tôi để lại 1 sự thanh tịnh, 1sự an lạc biết nhường nào, tiếng chuông ấy mới ngân vang và du dương làm sao…đó là tiếng chuông của Đại Hồng Chung…

Tôi nhớ lại những ngày tháng đầu tiên tôi vào Chùa làm công quả, mọi chuyện đối với tôi quả thật rất mới mẻ, và lạ lẫm. Lạ lẫm vì tôi cảm giác nơi đây rất thân thuộc, lạ lẫm vì tôi thay đổi thói quen hằng ngày của mình, thay vì lên máy tính ngồi suốt từ trưa đến chiều, tôi đến Chùa làm công quả… Ngày hôm đó khi tôi đang ở nhà, sư bá gọi điện thoại cho tôi, nhờ tôi qua đánh chuông Chùa dùm vì cô Phật tử thường đánh chuông có việc nghỉ nên không vào Chùa đánh chuông… Vì mới vào Chùa làm công quả không lâu nên việc đánh chuông Chùa rất lạ lẫm và thú vị… Đúng hẹn 14h45 tôi qua Chùa, sư bá dẫn tôi lên Chánh điện trên ( Chùa có 2 Chánh Điện), vì đây là lần đầu tôi đánh chuông nên không biết là phải mặc áo tràng mới được đánh chuông, mà lúc đó thì tôi lại không mang theo áo tràng nữa… Sư bá bảo xuống mượn áo tràng sư phụ mặc rồi sư bá sẽ hướng dẫn cách khai chuông, mặc áo tràng xong sư bá dẫn tôi đến 1 cái chuông to ơi là to được gọi là "Đại Hồng Chung".

Xuất xứ: Theo như trong kinh Tăng nhất a hàm có chép: Mỗi khi nghe tiếng chuông ngân lên, thì các hình phạt trong các ác đạo tạm thời dừng nghỉ, chúng sanh nào đang chịu những hình phạt ấy cũng được tạm thời an vui. Nghe được tiếng chuông là phiền não nhẹ vơi đi.

Trong chuyện Cảm thông cũng có chép:

.. ."Ngày xưa khi đức Phật Câu lưu Tôn ở tại viện Tu đa La xứ Càng trúc đã có tạo một quả chuông bằng đá xanh, thường vào lúc mặt trời vừa mọc khi tiếng chuông ấy vừa ngân lên thì trong ánh mặt trời ấy có các vị Hóa Phật hiện ra, diễn nói 12 bộ kinh, làm cho người nghe được chứng thánh quả không kể xiết".

Trong bộ kinh Kim cang Chí cũng có chép: "Vua Hiếu cao Hoàng đế đời nhà Đường nhơn vì nghe lời sàm tấu của Tống tề Khưu mà giết lầm kẻ tôi trung tên là Hòa Châu, nên khi chết đọa vào địa ngục. Một hôm có một người bị bạo tử (chết thình lình) thần hồn đi lạc vào địa ngục ấy, thấy một tội nhân đang bị gông cùm, bị kềm kẹp đánh đập rất là khổ sở, hỏi ra thì mới biết là vua Hiếu Cao nhà Đường. Vua gọi vị bạo tự ấy vào mà nói rằng: Nhờ ngươi trở lại dương thế nói giúp với hậu chúa rằng: Hãy vì ta mà đúc chuông cúng dường và làm các việc từ thiện. Khi trở lại dương thế, người bạo tử liền đến yết kiến hậu chúa để chuyển lời nhắn nhủ của vua Hiếu Cao. Nghe vậy, hậu chúa liền thân hành đến chùa Thanh Lương phát nguyện đúc một quả chuông để cúng dường và cầu siêu cho Hiếu Cao Hoàng đế. (Tích nầy trong truyện Bách Trượng thanh quy, trang 68 và 87).
