How Important Regular Exercise Is Essay

America, a nation perceived for being the most obese, may have yet to see the potential regular exercise has to offer for treating and solving such ailment and weakness. Regular exercise offers many benefits, both physically and psychologically. In the psychological aspect, average everyday people produce a perception of themselves or self-image sometimes of what they wish to be rather than being satisfied with who they are. With a majority of the population lacking regular exercise, depression and much stress is not too uncommon. In the physical aspect, the body becomes better adapted to pain often developing a tolerance for the sensation and allows oxygen to flow much more efficiently throughout the body, essentially allowing brain activity to become heightened as well as producing many chemical kickbacks which enable those who use exercise, to excel in whatever areas of interest they are focused on. The benefits of regular exercise are evident in that it encourages brain activity, superior self-image, and emotional stability.
The absence of any physical activity often hinders how many people conduct themselves on a day to day basis, it is often due to the lack of such activity people become easily stressed or overwhelmed. The reasons for these sluggish demeanors are that they lack the necessary neurochemicals and neurotransmitters which are secreted during such activities. The function of a neurochemical is to direct the nervous system in many of the processes it carries out daily ,while a neurotransmitter is a chemical messenger between neurons and may boost the connections between them if applied sufficiently enough. One of the neurochemicals and neurotransmitters that secreted are endorphins, which are natural pain killers that diminish stress and if provided the exercise is potent enough, it enables a euphoric sensation known give athletes a certain high. Another type of neurochemical and neurotransmitter is serotonin, which is located in the gastrointestinal tract where it highly influences digestion. Serotonin is triggered by regular exercise as well and is highly associated with the brain's pleasure center and many vital functions of the brain such as sleep, learning, memory, and behavior.
