A great amount of people listens to music which sometimes influences their life. Some of them listen to music in order to relax but there are people who create their lifestyle owing to the music they love. Of course there are many other reasons why music is listened to. All reasons cannot be so easily written down since all people are different and the reasons for the choice of their favourite genre of music are different as well. People can listen to music in order to sleep better, to laugh, to cry, to be happy, to dance etc. When music is played in a shop people are likely to buy more than if there was silence. Music and personality are connected and some people's thoughts can be evoked by the melody of songs they listen to.
People have been influenced by music for a long time. Songs were sung in the past already when there were simpler instruments than nowadays. “We have no rich evidence of music from the Prehistoric Period. There were found only fragments of musical instruments from the Stone Age and it is approximately 600 000 BC” (Cmíral 188, as translated by Tereza Dvořáková). As it can be seen nowadays music have remained an important part of mankind. People are brought to the mood they want to be in. Music helps to feel what a person wishes to feel, and therefore there is a great amount of genres of music for people with all possible personalities.

A person who is hard-working probably uses pop music to release themselves from stress which is likely to help them to feel better. If such a hard-working person concentrates only on their work the person is usually not creative enough as the person does the work he or she must do and when an unexpected situation occurs and it is important to create something new the person has usually problems to use phantasy and solve the situation creatively. Being a hard-working person can also be connected to the fact that such a person has high self-esteem. It reflects on the behaviour. These people know that they can manage their work in time and it enables them to be self-confident.
