How Societies Fall Essay

1615 words - 7 pages

Have you ever dreamt of a society without any flaws? A society where everything is perfect?

Well keep dreaming because there is no such thing as a “Perfect Society” and there never will be. All societies fall, whether its from governmental corruption, Social injustice, or even economical failure. Calling something a perfect society is a difficult task, and I'm not sure if anyone has ever been able to prove of their societies perfection. All societies will fail, the only difference is that not all will fall the same way, and this was the same case for Nazi Germany, US (Civil Rights movement) and especially the society in the book Divergent

One reason societies fall, is the act of a ...view middle of the document...

Perfect soldiers”.Only the Divergent had the vision of all the destruction.

This reason lead back to the fall of the Nazi German Government. The reason this society fell, was a mixture of strategy and skill. Hitler was the leader/ruler of this society at the time and his plan was basically to destroy the government (You could basically call him a corrupt leader). I know it sounds weird that someone would have a plan to destroy something the helped build, but that was his plan and thats what he did. his perfect society was great at first, but once he put his plan into action, the whole society was a complete mess. His plan was to persuade people into thinking he’s the best leader out there, so that he could basically fool with their mines later and destroy the government.

later on As tyranny spread across the society, the leaders and their collaborators persecuted and murdered millions of other people. Between two and three million prisoners of war were murdered or died of starvation, disease, neglect, or maltreatment. The leaders targeted the minorities for killing, and deported millions of civilians for forced labor, where these individuals worked and often died under deplorable conditions.”}

So basically if your society has a corrupt political system, you aren’t in too good of a situation. Your society feeds off of its political system, its like the medicine that keeps it a live and up and running. So if that medicine gets destroyed (By war, Corrupt leaders, etc.) you have to put in a lot of work in order to call that your society again. But thats the only way a society can fall to its “DEATH……”

Societies can also fall by a weak or weakening economy. If you can’t control the main functioning tool of your society, then how are you gonna hold a balanced society?

Although the Economy system in Divergent didn’t completely shut down, there are still some threats that good well destroy it. Just like in our society today. There are people known as the homeless. I know that some of those peoples actions are the reason they ended up where they are, but some of it could have to do with a weak or weakening economy. In Divergent the homeless are know as the factionless. The only difference is, they can stop whether they are factionless or in a faction. Its just the aftermath of a corrupt economy. The factionless could lead to the fall of the society, because if the economy fails and the Society goes into debt, most of the factionless will be left without a job and they will be in more of a worse situation than they are now. The could Boycott the government, Threaten, etc. There are a lot of Factionless, so if it goes to that situation, there are a lot of factionless, and whatever they decide to do could completely destroy the society
