RUKUN NEGARAKepercayaan kepada Tuhan merupakan rukunegara yang pertama. Agama merupakan pegangan bagi seseorang. Dalam setiap agama terdapat panduan dalam menjalankan kehidupan seharian yang dapat memastikan seseorang itu lebih terurus, berdisplin dan hormat-menghormati antara satu sama lain. Pegangan agama yang kukuh akan menjadikan seseorang itu tenang dan berfikiran positif lantas dapat menjadikan Malaysia sebagai bangsa yang berdaulat. Individu yang taat perintah Tuhan serta berpegang teguh kepada pegangan agama masing-masing tidak akan menjatuhkan maruah diri, agama dan negara serta tidak menjejaskan keselamatan negara. Seterusnya, kesetiaan kepada raja dan negara. Rakyat perlulah menunjukkan taat setia kepada Raja dan Negara. Yang di Pertuan Agong merupakan ketua Negara manakala sultan di negeri. Peranan raja ialah menyatukan rakyat serta melindungi hak-hak peribumi. Di Malaysia, kita masih mengamalkan institusi beraja iaitu bercorakkan sistem Demokrasi Berparlimen dan Raja Berperlembagaan. Demokrasi Berparlimen bermaksud rakyat terlibat dalam sistem pemerintahan Negara dan suara rakyat manakala Raja menjadi simbol taat setia rakyat kepda negara. Ketiga, keluhuran perlembagaan. Perlembagaan bermaksud himpunan undang-undang yang telah digubal serta dibukukan menjadi satu panduan. Perlembagaan melindungi rakyat serta menjaga hak-hak keistimewaan rakyat. Ianya dianggap luhur, unggul dan adil. Rakyat dituntut supaya menerima, mematuhi, menyanjungi serta menghormatinya. Keempat, kedaulatan undang-undang. Undang-undang merupakan aturan untuk dipatuhi rakyat oleh pemerintah. Undang-Undang dapat menjamin kestabilan, kemakmuran dan kedaulatan Negara. Ia juga dapat menjamin sistem pemerintahan dapat berjalan lebih lancar dan teratur. Perlembagaan Negara merupakan ibu kepada undang-undang negara kita. Bagi menjamin keselamatan keharmonian negara kita, perlaksanaan undang-undang amatlah penting. Akhir sekali, kesopanan dan kesusilaan. Ia memberikan tumpuan kepada pembentukan personaliti, tingkah laku dan akhlak dalam melahirkan rakyat yang bersopan dan berperibadi mulia. Bagi menjamin persefahaman dan keharmonian antara kaum, kita perlulah mengamalkan prinsip ini.MATLAMAT1. Mencapai Perpaduan yang Lebih Erat.Untuk menganggap diri mereka sebagai rakyat Malaysia tanpa mengira kaum dan kepercayaan masing-masing, rakyat Malaysia perlualah berfikiran positif serta kehadapan untuk membentuk satu bangsa dan negara di mana ahli-ahli masyarakatnya. Terdapat pelbagai persoalan berkaitan perkauman kerana Negara kita terdiri daripada pelbagai kaum dan etnik. Ketidakseimbangan ekonomi antara kaum merumitkan lagi perkara ini. Melalui Rukun Negara, tangapan sebgini dapat dihakis sama sekali seterusnya dapat membentuk satu bangsa yang bersatupadu di mana semua rakyat tampa mengira kaum mempunyai semangat kesetiaan dan perasaan cinta terhadap negara.2.
