As the gene is passed down the greater the number will be that the gene repeat itself. Studies have found that this is one of the more commonly found disease in people. It is more common because it is found equally in male and female, and it is also found pretty much evenly in all races. They have found no current cures. Researchers say they are trying to find a cure but they are having no luck finding anything that works as of right now. More than a quarter million people have or are at risk of getting huntingtons.
Life with HD is very difficult for people with or without the disease. There is no cure(what is huntington's disease? 1). There are some medication to help with some of the symptoms but does not cure them completely. It is important that people with HD stay on a regular schedule with a healthy diet so their conditions do not get worse. By staying active with activities such as football, reading, going to the movies ,and by doing regular day to day activities it will slow down the disease. Although you can slow it down eventually you will have to have a full time caregiver do to the fact that aging also has an effect on how bad your symptoms are.(Huntingtons Disease: What is Everyday Life like 1). Most people go to a neurologist or a psychiatrist daily to just talk and cope a little better with the disease.
The disease that is passed down from your parents is HD(huntingtons disease). It is a progressive brain disorder that can make life very difficult for people with and without the disease(what is huntington's disease). Personally if i had got this disease i do not know how i would cope with it, I surely would not want to get up and go out and do activities like you are supposed to. I do not just want to sit inside and hate life, but you can not do that or your symptoms will gradually get worse as the time passes. How do you think that you would cope? Would you want to get out or would you just want to stay inside and not go out and live your life like nothing has changed? There is so much that people know about huntington's disease and yet there is still so much more that people still don't know.
