I sat on the bed my eyes staring at Alayah who was toying with her blonde hair. I wanted nothing more than to avoid this conversation, as I’m sure she did. I let out a sigh as my eyes closed. Why did everything have to change? Why can’t it just stay the same? Alayah and I had some kind of connection, one that differed from Kaija, Dom, Hayleigh… Clarisse’s. Kaija might be my one of my best friends, Dom might take a bullet for me, and Clarisse actually did take one for me. But Alayah? She was deeper, she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind about the things that truly mattered, no matter the cost. She wasn’t bias. She’d tell it like it was, and right now I needed a little bit of that. ...view middle of the document...
She meet my eyes calmly waiting for me figure out my own question.
“He’s giving me a choice,”
“He gave you something just because you asked. He wouldn’t have done that with anyone but Piran.” Her words swallowed me whole. I didn’t think I had that much effect on him. The physical side I had gathered right away the first time that I had seen him. But honestly, I hadn’t thought that he wanted me for any reason other than that. Casey was different. He wasn’t like any other werewolf that I had dealt with. And he was mine. I think that was what scared me the most.
“Alayah what do you-,” she was nowhere to be found, the door left halfway open almost in a twisted form of mockery. A soft knocked sounded next to the door and I half expected it to be Casey there already, ready to force a decision upon me. But who it was shocked me even more. Piran stood in the doorway, bags under his eyes as he waited for me to allow him to enter. He rushed in and instantly feel to my feet, desperation clear in his every movement.
“You have to accept my brother. You have to! We need a Luna! You’re trained in more ways than we could have ever imagined. You have to see that you’ll be as good for us as we will be for you. Right?”
“Enough,” my heart skidded to a stop in my chest. Piran had the same pained and scared expression as I did and for good reason to. We had been caught. Caught by the Alpha.
“What is the meaning of this?” Casey’s voice boomed in the room, echoing off all four of lightly painted walls. Piran scrambled to his feet in an attempt to explain but before a single word could escape his mouth his brother but up a hand to stop him.
“I do not need you pleading on your hands and knees for my mate to accept me, Piran,”
“I wasn’t… I mean I wouldn’t have… you have to understand-,” once again he was cut off by Casey raising a hand to silence him.
“What I do with my mate is none of your concern,”
“It is if it effects the entire pack! I’m beta here, I have a right to be worried about the comings and goings of this,” Piran said gesturing between Casey and me.
“Way to show your status by begging your brother’s mate to accept him.” Fury instantly flew in Piran’s eyes and I hastily stepped in between the two men placing a firm hand on each of their chests. Both men instantly stopped arguing at my touch. Casey’s hand gripped my wrist in an attempt to get my hand off of him, but the second that my skin touched his all thoughts were lost in his warm chocolate eyes. Tingles spread from my wrist up through my entire body. It had been a while since we had let each other close enough near each other for this kind of reaction to happen. Piran cleared his throat and then sided away from my hand that had now been barely touching his shirt.
“I’ll just go now… ya I’ll just go,” I couldn’t even hear the sounds of the door shutting behind him I was so far gone. So far lost in his touch. His turned me to face him fully before lightly grasping my chin in his hand.
“What do you...
