I Love You,Baby Essay

393 words - 2 pages

Review"10 Things I Hate About You", directed by Gil Junger, is a successful modern adaptation of Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" where the setting is changed to a high school and the characters appear to be typical teenage youths. The main characters are modern versions of Romeo and Juliet, played by Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger, who become extremely popular after the movie comes out. "I Love You Baby" is an outstanding song from this film's ...view middle of the document...

Kat(Julia Stiles) and Bianca are sassy but very different siblings, who hate each other. Bianca, the younger sister, is pretty, popular but very superficial and light-headed. Kat, the older one, is an impulsive and hot-tempered girl. The major problem for Bianca, who dreams to date a handsome guy, is that their father has the rule for the daughters: Bianca can't begin dating until her sister does. Unfortunately for the younger sister, Kat shows no inclination to date at all. So Bianca's unhappy admirer finds the way to solve this problem: he bribes a local bad boy Patrick Verona (Heath Ledger), who is to win Kat's heart, and then the film goes into very predictable sequences coming to the happy ending.Anyone who's seen the movie knows that the plot and its predictability are its weak points. But at the same time "10 Things I Hate About You" acquaints us with Heath Ledger, an amazing actor, who has proved to be a real godsend to the TV viewers and won our hearts. Besides, the movie has surprisingly sharp jolt of good ideas, touching episodes and funny jokes that made me feel the whole range of emotions!I think everyone who likes romantic comedies or wants to be in high spirits for the rest of the day would enjoy this film.
