Many immigrants from around the world have wanted or are living in the United States. The government has heard complaints from the citizens about these immigrants and choosing whether or not to close the borders. Even though many people want to close the United State’s border due to the population increase, the United States should not because it already has laws in place to deal with the immigrants who come to the United States for freedom from oppression.
There are many immigration laws in the United States (U.S.) such as the green card, the immigration bill, and the Gentlemen’s agreement. These helps protect citizens’ benefits from the immigrants that come to U.S. Even though many of those citizens abuse these benefits in a prideful way; “Compassion and fairness ‐‐” (Leppala), these two ideas have been competing against each other over the debate with the U.S. immigrants. The government has not yet passes most of the immigration laws because of many reasons including population increase. They are trying to find a way for immigrants to become citizens in an easier manner, making sure that no one cuts in line. Also the government is also making sure that criminals or anyone with criminal records do not get this benefit. The president has not yet seen or signed the immigration bill due to these arguments and trying to pass them. “…the Senate, get it through the House, and get it to the president's desk…” (Cook), later on the passage it explains how it can bring many miracle into the U.S.
The U.S. provides freedom and liberty to all which is why many people come to U.S, escaping from oppression. Most of the countries are communist or dictatorship countries taking away their citizen’s freedom or rights. The U.S. is different from those countries, they provide freedom and rights giving immigrants the chance to change the country or internationally. Oppression can stop a person from expressing their talents and the citizens must obey the rule or else they can be in lots of trouble. President Reagan have told his citizens that they are the country of freedom and liberty and justice for all; “…, share in the responsibility of welcoming and resettling those who flee oppression” (Reagan). Closing the border is the only way to escape the hardship they are facing.
Some people say closing the U.S. border will be best...
