Indonesia Missions Research Paper

“God blessed me with the awareness that millions of people do not know the word of God. He just gave me the desire to serve overseas.” Mr. Spence explained, when I asked what caused him to choose missions ("Missionary Interview." ). God puts the burden on your heart to serve him and It’s up to you whether or not to listen to Him. Once you’ve decided to listen, He will tell you exactly when and where He will send you. You can be a missionary anywhere, whether it be where you live or in a remote country. In this case, God called the Spences to the country of Indonesia. N.p.,") . Actually, love is the greatest commandment which is also an example of missions (" Joshua Project. N.p.,") . Jesus explains that by loving others we show the love that He expressed to us. “Missions is important because we are commanded to finish the task of evangelization and to work toward the worship of our God by every person throughout the world” (" Joshua Project. N.p.,") . Finally,God wants His love to shine through us and for us to be a light to the world.

Assuredly, the Bible does not once talk about a missionary’s life being easy. In fact, in John 15:18 its says “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” Therefore, God guarantees that people will persecute you because of your love for Jesus. When I asked Mr. and Mrs. Spence, missionaries from Indonesia, they explained that the hardest obstacle is learning the language and culture of the country. Mrs. Spence continued to express that you have to learn both Indonesian language and tribal languages ("Missionary Interview." ). On the other hand, they also clarified that becoming a missionary was the best decision they ever made ("Missionary Interview." ). The Bible says in Romans 10:15, “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” As you can see,“being a missionary comes with trials and tribulations but in the end it is worth it” ("Missionary Interview." ).

As a missionary, it is helpful being supported by a mission agency. “Trans World Mission Agency works toward making disciples of all people, and to do so by using and making available mass media to proclaim the gospel of salvation to as many people as...
