Infertility and Environmental pollutant
Every year, hundreds of new chemicals are introduced to the U.S. market. Some of these chemicals may present major challenges to human health, so toxicologist should check for safety and evaluated these chemicals before releasing them. Maintaining a healthy environment is central to increasing quality of life and years of healthy life ("The impact of," 2013). The state of our external environment has a great impact in our lives. For example, the changes in climate can increase the risk of diseases, outdoor air quality, Exposure to hazardous substances in the air, water, soil, and food and chemical exposures. It makes sense that what we have been exposed to can affect our health. My paper is going to be about infertility and how it is affected by environmental pollutant. Infertility is a major problem in United States and worldwide. There are women who are able to get pregnant, but they are not able to carry their pregnancy to full term. There are research out there to prove that environmental contaminants can cause infertility, which can affect women menstruation and ovulation. I am going to talk about how exposure to environmental pollutants or chemical toxic may pose the greatest threat to reproductive health (infertility), menstrual cycles, agents that cause it and ways to prevents it. I choose this topic because it is something that affects both men and women around the world and it is an issue that couples need to know about and how the environment plays a major role in the health condition.
There can many things that can affect the reproductive system of women such as the exposure to chemical. Fertility is cause by overexposure to certain environmental factors such as pesticides, chemical, lead, tobacco smoking, perchlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and radiation. It can also affect those that are frequently exposed to heat, which can elevate the body temperature and impairing the sperm. These things can make it difficult for women to get pregnant. People get expose to these agents by inhalation, contacts with skin and ingestion. Some of these chemical can enters that mother blood and affect the eggs, such as radiation, which can go through the mother’s body and harm the eggs ("The effects of," 1999).
These agents have great effects for fertility for both men and women. Also, it can affect the menstrual cycle of women. Chemical agents can cause an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone, because these sex hormones have a great effects their body and may affects their overall health. These chemicals can cause disrupt the balance between the brain, pituitary gland, and ovaries. These agents can cause affects both partners because it can damage the eggs and sperm. If the egg, sperm and hormones are affected then it can cause infertility because they are the things that regulate menstrual cycle ("The effects of," 1999).
There are many ways that women and men can take to reduce the risk of...
