Innovation, design, and creativity:The terms innovation, design, and creativity are now common place in the business world, but how many people could truly define them? How do innovation, design, and creativity differ and how do they come together in order to bring new products to the marketplace or improve products or services that all ready exist?Dosi (1988) defines innovation as "the search for, and the discovery, experimentation, development, imitation, and adoption of new products, new process, and new organizational set-ups." (para. 2) Innovation can be better understood as the process that transforms an idea or invention into a successful product or service. Innovation also covers a wide range of areas, such as new or improved products (the first transistor, new methods (Ford's assembly line), new distribution channels (Ammozon), or new forms of business organizations (franchising). Innovations are not always recognized they are made; it can take years for the value of an innovation to be appreciated by the market. (Selene, 2008)While there is no simple definition for creativity which can encompass the idea as a whole, creativity is a generally thought of as a reflection of how an individual sees, and understands the world. Creativity or creative intelligence helps do describe people basic personality and beliefs; creative intelligence focuses on how people think, and the desire to achieve something new. People how fit into the creative category question how and why things happen, exploring areas other then those they are familiar, and are willing to change their ideas. "They rely on imagination, in addition to knowledge within a given field, and go beyond what is normally expected of them. Those who blindly follow rules in any given field may be good problem-solvers, but they are not necessarily creative" (Rowe, 2004). Creativity...
