The Sovereignty and goodness of God is a book about a woman who is in a stressful situation. She is desperately trying to please God because she is feeling like he is punishing her. This book is widely appreciated because I believe a lot of people can relate to Mary Rowlandson. Sometimes we come to a point in life where we cannot handle all of the stress. We do things to please our parents, God, teachers and so on. At this point in my life I can relate to the Mary Rowlandson, except I know there is nothing I can do to please God. A lot of times we get stuck thinking that we have to do things to please him. In the book The Sovereignty and Goodness of God, Mary Rowlandson is captured and she thinks God is doing this to her. This book is enlightening to many students including myself and has broadened my insight on life.
Comparing the history of Mary Rowlandson with this moment of my life, I can say that this reading means a lot to me because, as said in the beginning of the story, of which Mary Rowlandson in spite of everything that happened she decided to write a book in which I would write her story. And I say that this means a lot to me and it is by the fact that she was kidnapped and like their children and unfortunately her youngest daughter was murdered. In my thinking is that this was very hard for Mary Rowlandson already that tube that watching her daughter die in their own hands and much more painful than the girl just had its 6 years old. With the beginning of this story I can say that this book is very significant for me; everything that happens to Mary Rowlandson is tragic because it is very sad. I feel like myself, along with many other college students often feel helpless under stress like Mary Rowlandson.
I can appreciate this work because at this point in my life I feel that I have to overcome a lot of challenges. I want to accomplish these challenges for myself, but I am also concerned...
