Inspiration Essay

1354 words - 6 pages

After moving to Worland, Wyoming I came to realize one thing that I had never thought of before. That thing is that many people will spend their lives living in the same town without every traveling to any other states. This is something that I could never even imagine because by the time I turned fifteen I had moved eight times. To me moving was not all that bad because it allowed me to experience so many new things. It was always sad leaving my friends behind but I knew that there would be people in the new place that I was moving to, to be friends with. This is why when I moved to Worland and began to talk to other people about places that they had been I was surprised because there was ...view middle of the document...

The first thing that we had to do was go and get our crowns and sashes. We had to wear these all week for every event that we went to. Some of these events were a bubble gum blowing contest, a sand castle building contest, and making a float. My mom and the parents of the prince from my elementary school, Sawyer, worked together to create an amazing float. Every year they picked a new theme for the floats and the theme that we had was bugs. For out float we picked the carrot caterpillar and tied Bugs Bunny into it. Our float was amazing, and it was a lot of fun going through the parade on it. This was such a fun experience and it created some really cool memories. Things like these make me really happy that I moved a lot as a kid because if I had never moved then I would have never been able to experience the Traverse City Cherry Festival. This is one of the many things that has inspired me to travel in my life.
Everywhere that I have lived I have met some really cool people and I hope that in the future I will meet more people through traveling. In fourth grade I moved from Enid, Oklahoma to Fort Collins, Colorado. This was a big change because Fort Collins was so much bigger that Enid, but it turned out to be one of the best places that I have lived. On my first day of school in for Collins I met a girl named Danielle. She was awesome and we became really good friends. About six months after I moved to Colorado I found out that we were moving again. I was really sad because I had made a lot of friends, but I was also excited to get to go to a new place. We moved to Scottsbluff, Nebraska and I began to go to a Christian school. This was a really good experience because it helped me to get to know myself better and I now have a better stance on what I believe. This school was good because of what I earned, but I did not make any really good friends here so I decided that I wanted to go back to public school for eighth grade. This is honestly the best decision that I have ever made because I met some lifelong friends as a result of it. The crazy part is that my friend Danielle from Fort Collins had once lived in Scottsbluff and while she was there she was friends with the same people that I became friends with at public school in Scottsbluff. Little coincidences like this one are really cool and really make me appreciate all the people that I have met through traveling.
All of the traveling that I have done so far in...
