What employee motivation techniques could Walmart implement to improve employee moral regarding outsourcing?
Introduction
Walmart has experienced frustration by employees due to outsourcing. The Economic Policy Institute has released a study citing Walmart’s trade deficit with China as the root cause of 400,000 jobs being lost from the US workforce, over 75 percent of which were in manufacturing. Walmart may be increasing their profits but are they keeping their employees happy?
If Walmart wants to keep their employees they need to find some ways to keep them motivated. According to an article title How to Increase Motivation at the Workplace keeping employees motivated is one of the most important elements of not only getting the most out of the workers, but it’s the only way to keep them working for you. Ways Walmart should motivate their employees include; Improving Communication, they need to talk to their employees not just I groups but on personal levels; Increase Responsibility, allowing the workers to manage other worker and use their own leadership skills; Institute flexible work schedules, allow the employees to pick their on ours to keep them motivated; Reward good work, give the employees rewards for the work they do to keep them wanting to do more.

Strengths
Weaknesses
· A focused strategy is in place for human resource management and development. People are key to Wal-Mart's business and it invests time and money in training people, and retaining a developing them.
· Their size and buying power is a great strength. They also are frugal in their management style...very careful with how they spend their money and manage their resources.
· Just controlling such a huge organization is a huge undertaking and in particular managing the employees. Suppliers are always under pressure with regard to price and their ability to supply when required. Because of the low prices customers often question and are concerned at the quality of the goods. This is offset to some extent by the satisfaction guarantees offered.

· To take over, merge with, or form strategic alliances with other global retailers, focusing on specific markets such as Europe or the Greater China Region.
· By outsourcing with other company’s Walmart is allowing jobs for people in other country’s
· But by Walmart outsourcing they have less of a need for workers in the stores were they ship out from so people are losing jobs her in the US.
