The name Jesus means "God saves". (Fisher, 2005) People do believe that Jesus was sent to earth to live as humans live, suffer as humans suffer, die to redeem humankind and gloriously rise again. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) To Christians Jesus is not just the founder of Christianity, but the heart of Christianity. Jesus was never married and had no children. This was when he was tempted by the Satan; he would not give in to Satan.Jesus had followers called disciples; he taught that material possessions were not needed, only spiritual. The miracles Jesus performed were done so with compassion some of the miracles were; turning water to wine, healing the sick, walking on water and casting evil out. (Fisher, 2005) Jesus once reportedly turned a few loaves of bread and fish into enough food to feed a crowd. (Fisher, 2005) Jesus healed the sick and the blind. He emphasized that faith played an important part in the miracles. The evening before his crucifixion Jesus shared his final meal with his disciples. He let them know that he would be betrayed, and had been betrayed by Judas. (Fisher, 2005) Jesus was sentenced by Pilates to be crucified, he was beaten and a crown of thorns was placed on his head. Jesus was then nailed to a cross; this was a degrading death and was used in the Roman Empire. Three days after his death, Jesus rose from the tomb; it is believed that this defeat...
