The data in red shows anomalous results. The average data for the trials is also given (Figure 2). The average was calculated and then the graph of the average volume of oxygen produced in a period of 3 minutes at several different temperatures was drawn (Graph 1). The average was worked out to two decimal place to make the result more accurate. The average was calculated by adding the 3 readings and dividing by 3. E.g. (18.0+19.0+20.0)÷3=19.00 (2d.p.). However, when the average for 5ºC was calculated, it only used the values from the 1st and 2nd trials. This is because the 3rd trial data is very low at 30 and 60 seconds compared to the 1st and 2nd trials and so would produce a lower average. Also, only the 2nd and 3rd trials were used for 35ºC to work out the average. This is because the 1st trial data is very high at 30 seconds and slightly higher at 60 seconds. These data produce higher averages than expected. Therefore, the values for the 5ºC in the 3rd trial and the values for the 35ºC in the 1st trial were not used as they were seen to be anomaly results.From graph 1 it can be seen that the total volume of oxygen produced in the period increased up to 35ºC producing 34cm³ of oxygen but from 45ºC, it decreased and at 75ºC, no oxygen was produced.The initial rate of reaction, which is the gradient or tangent of the graph...
