From an early age, my parents nurtured me to become a responsible and productive person in the society by inculcating values of self-discipline, responsibility, and integrity. My parent’s wishes for my life have always been to become a successful entrepreneur or a doctor. Amidst my aspirations of fulfilling the wishes of my parents, I have grown to become aware of my leadership skills that I can use to make a more meaningful impact in the society. Therefore, in my entire academic journey and particularly in high school, I have taken on leadership roles in different areas in my quest for exposure and experience in leadership. As a junior student majoring in economics, I am cognizant of the fact that the global economy is dependent on effective leadership whether in the economic, political, social, or legal arena.
I have grown to be observant and critically analytical of the current global issues that are directly or indirectly related to leadership. It was not an easy task to find people who could concur with my idea and join me in the journey to forming a stable band. However, through determination and commitment to the idea, we eventually made it to gather resources and fellow students who were interested in hip hop music. Through these efforts that culminated in a successful beginning of a long journey, I learned valuable lessons about leadership and my confidence to become an effective leader became stronger. For instance, I learned that a leader has to carry the responsibility of ensuring that the common task that a group resolves to achieve is achieved.
At the same time, I ensured that every individual who joined the group shared in our common interest of establishing a band that had a long term vision. In this regard, I elaborated my vision for...
