Leadership is an important role. It is the process in which a person influences and motivates others to complete their goals. True leadership begins with a true leader. Therefore, what is the definition of a true leader? A leader is someone who is trust worthy and dependable. A person you can count on to be there for you whenever you need them. A true leader is a person who is positive and has their head on their shoulders and leads by a good example. A leader is someone who is willing to listen to you. A leader is also a person who is open to trying new things and ideas from other people. A leader is neither stubborn nor selfish; they are always looking out for the people around them instead of themselves. A leader is also motivational and encourages people to try new things. A leader is someone who has their priorities together and sticks to their core values. There are a few people in my life that I look up to as a leader. My mother is one of them. My mother, Maria Richardson, is an amazing lady. She is very motivational. She is the type of person who can make you feel like you can accomplish anything. My mother looks out for everyone and helps anyone who is in the need of help. She never holds grudges. She is also strong, mentally and physically. My mother leads by a great example. She does what ever she needs to do in order to provide for her family. She is great at giving advice and lifting people’s spirit. She turns everything negative into a positive thing. She holds her values close and always stands up for what she believes in regardless of what anyone else has to say. My mother has led me down a narrow road and is helping me on my journey to success. She helps me understand that my goals and priorities are important when it comes to accomplishing something dear to me. My mother is my inspiration and role model. She is a great example of how a leader should be. Leadership is about leading the way to a positive lifestyle and helping others.
Every leader has strengths and weaknesses. My top five strengths are faith, integrity, self-motivation, leadership, and teamwork. Without self-motivation, integrity, and faith I would not be where I am today. Faith keeps me going. With faith, I know I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. Faith gives me hope to be successful one day and provide for my family like I have always wanted. Self-motivation gives me the strength to stay focused. With self-motivation, I keep my eyes on the prize. I know if I study, do homework, go to class, etc. then I know everything I have been working hard for will pay off. Integrity keeps me in lined with my beliefs and values as well as staying true to myself. I stand up for what I believe is right, regardless of anyone else’s opinion. I hold my beliefs and values close to me. Leadership and teamwork helps me to become less selfish. I understand with leadership and teamwork everything is not about me. When working with others, it is about everyone in the group....
