Hello, my essay is about one of the two greatest artists that ever lived in the renaissance. My essay is going to outline the the comparison of the two great men that lived, such as their art, sculptures, and their mark on modern society today. My thesis, as this is a very arguable statement, but in my personal opinion Da Vinci was the greater man because as his work was more detailed and astonishing, he invented the things that change the way we look at things and improved our lifestyle, he designed some of the most beautiful renaissance buildings which changed architecture forever which are still used today, And he discovered a whole new way of painting. As Michelangelo was a brilliant artist he didn't expand his work like Leonardo did, although it has come to my attention that Leonardo did not finish all of his art pieces but there is a most likely a very valid reason why they were not finished.
A quick summary of Leonardo Da Vinci's life, Leonardo was a painter, a sculptor, an architect and an engineer, Da Vinci's numerous skills have earned him the title of renaissance genius. Da Vinci's fascination with science and his in-depth study of human anatomy aided him in mastering the realist art form. Whilst Leonardo's fellow artists were known to create fixed figures in their works, Leonardo always tried to include movement and emotion into his own pieces. All the people in Leonardos painted with great accuracy and detail that it is sometimes rumoured that Da Vinci painted from the bones outward. Leonardo's best considered master pieces were, the Mona Lisa, the last supper and Vitruvian Man The Proportions of the Human Figure.
Michelangelo was an Italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet, and engineer (who was considered one of the greatest artists of all time) of the High Renaissance who applied an unparalleled influence on the advancement of Western art. Even though making few contributions beyond the arts, his adaptability in the arts he took up was of such a high order that he is often considered a contender for the title of the average Renaissance man, along with his fellow colleague Leonardo da Vinci.
Leonardo Da Vinci's childhood and family life: Leonardo Da Vinci was born on the 15th of April 1452, on the Arno river in the city of Vinci, Tuscany. Which was occupied by the Medici ruled territory by the republic of Florence. Leonardo was the illegitimate son of Messer Piero Fruosino di Antonio da Vinci a Florentine legal notary, and Caterina a peasant. Leonardo had no official surname in sense, Da Vinci simply meant from Vinci. Leonardo spent his first five years in the hamlet of Anchiano in the household of his mother, then from 1457 he lived in the estate of his grandparents, father and uncle, Francesco, in the small town of Vinci. His father had married a 16 year old girl named Albiera, who cherished and loved Leonardo very much but unfortunately died young. It was until Leonardo was 16 that his father remarried somebody who...
