Mercedes Ferretiz loved being from a diverse city such as Dallas. My wife enjoyed the different food, music, and the big lights this city brought her. My lady was born in 1995, and even though we both retired in Lancaster. She never quit talking about the street tacos she would crave from East Dallas. Mercedes would also admit to missing the atmosphere from her childhood home, that she almost burned down at the age of four. Even at a young age my wife proved to be different from others, which made her stand out from her siblings and friends.

Not only was I blessed in life by meeting her, but also by being given three lovely children Frodo, Gandalf, and Arwen. Even if Mercedes were to spend a long day at Children’s she would make sure to attend Frodo’s soccer games, Gandalf’s music concerts, and our little Arwen’s dance recitals. Mercedes was delighted that God had given us talented, charming children.
My children and my grandchildren may have thought their mother; their grandmother was a hard working woman that just loved to make other people happy. Yes, my Wife was wonderful. Before she became Mrs.Ferretiz, mommy, and grandma, she was a wild flower. At age 22 after graduating from Texas Women’s University, she bungee jumped off the Amazon Mountain. During the summer of 2017 she also went skydiving in Puerto Rico. Not only was your mom sweet, kind, but she was truly astonishing. Mercedes never back down from what she set her mind onto. Even when your mother was in labor, she turned down the epidural. My sweet old lady was a daredevil.
Besides my mother, Mercedes was the greatest woman I knew. She had a free spirited personality, which would make people befriend her. Mercedes demonstrated being reliable towards her family and friends. Her goals were to help anyone that was in need. Mercedes made sure to aid, comfort, and assist her loved ones. It did not matter what time or day it was, she would be there. Everything Mercedes did was done out of love towards all of you. Never in my life time did I hear her complain about staying up pass midnight consoling, and giving advice to her friends. Mercedes never complained about taking care of our children while they were sick, and throwing up. I tried cleaning up Gandalf’s vomit one time, and almost tripped and busted my lip. My wife made it look so easy, and effortless. These were also great qualities about her.
