Local Connections: Tenneco Inc. Around the Globe
Tenneco Incorporation has a colossal presence throughout the world. They are a fortune 500 company that also has a few locations around Toledo (“Tenneco”). Tenneco continues to grow and now has locations all over the world with 89 plants and facilities in over 100 different countries (“Manufacturing”). The company does ample things around the globe which helps many people as well as making our world a better place to live in. They help to keep the environment clean, as they are a leader in clean air and ride performance in the automobile industry while providing jobs to people all over the world (“Profile”). We also know an employee of Tenneco Inc. who can give us an inside look at the company. He worked at a Toledo area facility until being promoted and transferred to Europe. Throughout the following pages, we will discuss the good and bad effects of capitalism and the different ways Tenneco is involved in our capitalist society.
Tenneco Inc. “is one of the world's leading designers, manufacturers and distributors of clean air and ride performance products and systems for the automotive, commercial truck and off-highway markets and the aftermarket” (“Profile”). They have superb product quality and innovation and are constantly trying to improve their product (“Profile”). Tenneco Inc. has won numerous awards for their dedication to making a clean product and working towards making the world a better place. One of these awards was a 2012 John Deere Supplier Innovation Award that they won for their creativity and impact in their products (“Tenneco Receives John Deere”). They also won the 2012 Ford World Excellence Award for their product’s superior quality, delivery, and performance (“Two Tenneco Plants”). Tenneco has been winning other awards for many years now and they continue to provide products that help the environment and are great for the companies purchasing them.
Tenneco focuses on making the best products they possibly can for their consumers throughout the world. They have fourteen engineering centers located on five continents that focus on pioneering advanced technologies and innovative products that help consumers meet increasing demands for enhanced environmental performance, safety, and better ride control (“Worldwide Engineering”). Tenneco’s manufacturing facilities produce high quality products and systems that use state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and advanced optimization tools to assure consistent levels of quality and to improve efficiency (“Worldwide Engineering”). The company focuses on serving their customers with innovation and technical expertise to solve problems and raise vehicle performance to new levels (“Worldwide Engineering”). Tenneco puts an emphasis on providing consumers with low product prices while also maintaining their superb quality and functionality.
