Believe it or not fish scales just one of the many disgusting Ingredients used in popular health in beauty products. Due to lack of regulations in the United States, manufacturers get away with not having to expose all ingredients in their products. Because of the enormous amount of unknown ingredients in health and beauty products, we can determine using natural products are much more beneficial to health and beauty products consumers.
With the economy still not being at its best, and the population continuously increasing many consumers would rather unknown ingredients in food kill them, than starving because they bought natural makeup products? The desire to want to be pretty only increases the manufactures neglect behaviors. Women buy the makeup to enhance themselves. Without observing the ingredients in the makeup, they are often unaware of the toxins they are applying to their skin. The same thing also goes for men. When applying anti-perspiration deodorants they are applying Parabens and toxic chemicals, which could cause breast cancer and genetic mutations in both men and women.
Let's take soap for example. The purpose of soap is to clean. It may be to clean the body skin or the floor; but the overall job is to clean. Soaps with exfoliating beads, only drag plastic up and down your body. Soap as a whole is only a mixture of acids, and then when you add the plastic exfoliations, you are now applying plastic and acids to your skin.
What many consumers don’t realize is all human actions affect the marine life. When you use a product on the skin, it gets absorbed. Once absorbed it then is flushed out by natural body functions, and then is flushed and works its way onto the ocean, where it is sucked up by innocent an animal that's only priorities is finding food and not getting eaten.
In a recent article in ABC news, "Danger of Toxic Chemical in Cosmetics?",there was a small study done testing the chemical dibutyl phthalate, or DBP in which was found in mostly reproductive women. In this study it was found DPB was one of the many toxic chemicals used by manufactures in health and beauty products. This chemical is known to be in many popular health products such as shampoos, conditioners, deodorants and nail polishes; are known to cause birth defects in children of expecting mothers. Due to the fact that there are so many outlets, manufacturers are not required to make consumers aware of all ingredients that are in the products, consumers are left unaware of the products that they use on their bodies.
