For this essay, I have been asked to evaluate the characteristic of supremacy in ‘Lord of the Flies’ book and the symbolism of it. A reading of the relevant literature suggests that
To start with, in the beginning of the movie, a group of school kids were being evacuated by a plane in the midst of a violent war and unfortunately was shot down and crashed in a remote region of the Pacific Ocean unexpectedly, near an isolated island. Later on, Ralph and Piggy notice a conch on the beach. Piggy realised that it could be used as a horn and a signal to summon the others. When they were summoned for the first time, the school kids decided to elect someone to be in charge, a leader. They chose Ralph to be the person in charge and with that being said, Ralph assigned Jack to be in charge of food hunting for the whole group.
Ralph then stated that they should keep a wood fire to use as a signal and to attract any bypassing ships. They managed to put fire to some wood by using sunlight through Piggy’s glasses, the lenses. But lack of monitoring the fire caused it to overwhelm the woods, burn out of control and one of the youngest kids most probably burned to death as he disappeared after the chaos. In the start, the kids take pleasure in not having any adult around them to tell them off or tell them what to do and spend majority of their time swimming and playing games. But, Ralph, on the other hand, nags about constructing shelter and keeping the signal fire burning. With that being said, the hunters didn’t manage to catch a wild pig but their leader becomes more and more into hunting.
One day, a ship passed by the ocean but the signal fire that should’ve been kept burning by the hunters had been burned out. Ralph approached Jack lividly because he messed up an opportunity to be rescued. Jack then gets criticized by Piggy, and then hits Piggy's face. Ralph then calls for a meeting, we find out at the meeting that some of the kids are scared and as time went...
