Mao Tse-tung and the Cultural Revolution in ChinaMao Tse-tung, Mao Zedong or Mou Dzŭ-doong was Chinese revolutionary and political leader. He was born on December 26, 1893 in a village in Hunan. His father was Mao Shunsheng, a well-doing peasant, and his mother's name was Wen Qimei. Mao attended middle school in Changsha, the capital of Hunan, and then he attended and graduated from the provincial teachers college (Hunan Normal School) in 1918. Mao has written many great works of politics and poetry.Mao Zedong, at the age of 17, fought in the 1911 revolution also known as the Xinhai Revolution . Afterwards he went back to college to study to become a teacher. There he found his love for books, and he was influenced by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Charles Darwin, and especially Karl Marx. Mao Tse-tung was sent to fix this problem but his solution would be delayed due to civil war.During the White Terror , the main city that was targeted was Shanghai, since it was very communist and many members of the CCP lived here. Due to massacres and executions, the number of members in the CCP dropped drastically from an estimated 60,000 to 10,000. Mao Zedong Escaped death during the White Terror when a group of people seized him and wanted him executed. He escaped the guards and rushed into freedom. While hiding out with his guerrilla army, he became separate and planned a strategic backdoor...
