The philosopher who I have chosen to talk about in this essay is Maria Montessori. Maria Montessori’s method and theory has quite inspired me, any child would enjoy coming to school because it is a place for him or her to work in their own environment. The Montessori franchise is a global success story. Montessori schools provide a carefully prepared environment. It also provides opportunities for children to grow intellectually and emotionally.

This gave Montessori her big break, when she learnt the works of Jean Itard and Edouard Seguin, she ended by focusing on children with learning difficulties. 1897, Montessori read and examined course on pedagogy.
University Psychiatric Clinic in Rome, 1898 when she began her work with children. Maria discovered that the children’s problem were emotional than medical, she worked long hours to establish this idea. Maria wanted to meet the needs of the children so she designed “Special learning materials”. She trained the teachers as well, so they could also meet the children’s needs.
“Learning is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being” quote by Dr Maria Montessori. It is not acquired by listening to the words, but of experience in which the child acts on his environment.
She believed that the child can learn and construct experience in the world. Learning she said was not something that needed to be forced or motivated instead learning is something that humans do naturally. The early years especially are mental growth.
Throughout the early years of life the child absorbs impressions from the world around him. A unification of physical and mental energy comes about when a child becomes absorbed in work. Montessori called this “Normalizations” and “Concentration” she said was the key.
