A. Attention getter: Imagine that you are sitting in your dorm room with a group of friend creating a social network site for Texas State. All of a sudden your network goes viral across the world and you have companies willing to buy your site for millions of dollars. This may sound unrealistic, but this was reality for Mark Zuckerberg.
B. Relevance: By inventing Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has created a social gateway that has enhanced the way we communicate with others across the globe.

By his sophomore year in which the year he dropped out, Mark became known as the “software developer” on campus (Astrum people). Mark’s remarkable talent enabled him to create numerous programs such as CourseMatch which allowed students to select their classes based on selection of their peers. Another site called Facemash that allowed people select a person who they thought was hotter out of two pictures. Also, a site called Harvard Connections that got shut down because the popularity disabled students from getting on the internet (A short history of Mark Zuckerberg).
2. In 2004, out of a dorm room at Harvard, Mark ran the site called Facebook. Originally, Facebook was for only colleges but soon evolved into a social network everyone making the site’s membership over 5.5 million users in 2005 (Bio True Story). As the site’s membership continued to upsurge, large companies began to offer Mark millions of dollars to sell his site. According to Washington Post, Zuckerberg turned down a $1 billion dollar offer from Yahoo to buy Facebook.
