In 1890, there lived a woman, named Mary Cheapmann. She was a beautiful young lady with long blonde straight hair, white skin, and blue eyes. Every man that she met can’t resist to not see her face. She lived with her father, James Cheapmann in a village in Wiltshire, England. It was a small, peaceful and tranquil village, where the people lived happily and harmoniously. She helped her father every day, who was a poor vegetable seller in a traditional market.
One morning in autumn, as usual Mary with his father went to the market to sell the vegetables. Sadly, that was the most deficit day that they had suffered. The market wasn’t as crowded as usual. However, there was a man came over her, ...view middle of the document...
It seems like Mary loved him. Through their time together, her feeling grew bigger and stronger. Mary wanted John to marry her soon. Mary thought that John loved him too. She can see it through his charming and lovely manner to her, even though he never said that.
“After all this time, I never know where you lived, or meet your family. I wonder If I can visit your house and meet your family.”
“I’m sorry but I have no family, Mary. They passed away since I was child.” Said John miserably.
“Oh, I’m sorry for that. Why do not you ever say that?” Asked Mary.
“I have no reason to tell you. But If you want to come to my house, I’ll arrange a dinner in my house tomorrow.” Said John.
Finally, the day of the dinner arrived. On the evening, her father just arrived from the market, while Mary dressed up. He called, “Mary! I’m home!”
She quickly ran to welcome his father. “Welcome, Dad! How’s the market?”
“Not good enough. Worse than yesterday. It seems that we can only have for breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. I’m sorry Mary.”
In deep of her mind, Mary was holding a bad feelings about his life. She was bored, suffered, and saturated with his poor life. However, she can’t tell his Dad about his mind. Such a rude if she told that.
“Wait, where are you going?”
“Dad.... I’m going to go to John’s house. I’m going to have a dinner with him, and maybe he will propose me.”
“Who’s John?” asked James surprisedly.
“He’s the man that always came to our stand in the market, Dad. I love him. He is rich Dad, and maybe he’s the solution for our life.”
“I don’t know any single thing about him, Mary. Don’t go. I red some bad news about a young lady killed strangely in morning newspaper.”
“Oh, Dad. C’mon, I’ll be fine. Bye Dad. I’m leaving!”
Then she arrived at John’s house. It was a big mansion with gothic architecture. Much like a haunted and abandoned mansion. The house was so quite, like nobody...
