McDonald's has been around a long time. In that time many changes took place, advertising and nutrition were two major things that changed. People have been eating their food and enjoy it. Sadly most of those people don't know all the junk that they are really eating. McDonald's has a vast company due to its history, advertising, and addicting food.
McDonald’s began with 2 brothers named Maurice 'Mac' and Richard 'Dick' McDonald. Ray Kroc helped it McDonald’s become a worldwide chain of fast food restaurants in the year 1953. They are serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries (McDonald's.com). Out of those 68 million customers about 40% of them are young kids under the age of 13. While the McDonald's chain continues to grow, so do their prices. 788 million dollars were spent on advertisements in the year 2012 alone. During that time period McDonald prices skyrocketed. Even though the price was raised on food, the customers kept coming. That's 63 million customers each and every day they are open. Add that up and it averages out to be 1 billion pounds of beef a year and 1.5 billion toys a year. This is one reason McDonald's is a number one fast food hamburger chain. As a high ranking company, business speaking, you would think that they would pay their workers well. However the workers only get minimum wage if they are lucky. Most McDonald's employees only get ten dollars. This is under the limit by at least 25 cents. The employees don't seem to mind, since one million new workers are hired here in the United States every year. (McDonald’s web March 5 2014)
McDonald's is widely known company. More people recognize the Golden Arches than the Cross. The arch was presented publicly around the year 1962. The Golden Arches were originally two separate arches. One arch was on the right side of the building. The second arch was on the left side of the building. The Golden Arch resembled a flexible french fry. The new Golden Arch is now in the form of the letter 'M'. This arch now represents capitalism and globalization. The Golden arch is an assurance of consistency and quality. It assures the customers that all items having the McDonald trademark have the same excellence in any location in the world. So when the McDonald’s industry went international, it desired to employ a logo that guarantees their unstoppable "worth in the cafeteria trade" (aboutmcdonalds web March 5 2014).
