Me As A Student Essay

1238 words - 5 pages

The recent changes I have made as a student could possibly be a fluke but, slowly I plan to keep it the way I want it to be. Of course why am I making these changes now, where I could have just stayed the way I was in high school. College is different, there's no popular man or class clown or in my case all my friends went to another school so, I have no one to talk to here at Fullerton College. Why am I working so hard now and not being the class clown? I want to succeed in life and I want to do it now, so I don't plan on wasting my time to look funny and cool. Just recently I wanted to become a teacher. I want to teach kids and tell them not to fall in the same situation like I did.Up until now, I slacked off in school and I always did something on the side to make my teacher happy and eventually raise my grade up. I would do videos for them. Like wedding anniversaries, birthday videos, and other special videos. I rarely did my work. I also was rarely up for class. For 4 years I was focused on other things like: friends, girlfriends, baseball, work, football, the video yearbook, and of course church.I was also known as a class clown. I gave your usual smart ass remarks, give the substitute teacher a hard time, talk to friends, and tell the teacher that I need to use the restroom and leave for 30 minutes. I was well known by everyone at my school. I was one of the big guys on campus. I was the guy who kiss up or begs for a C to a teacher. I would also copy homework from friends. Most people said I had the best "hookups" at Canyon. Even though I rarely did my homework, I graduated with a 3.0 GPA.Every now and then I would do my work. I would study on occasion and for a few weeks every now and then I would stay focused. Something would happen or I would just get borad and my mind wouldn't focus on my work. It would focus on other things, like the weekend. I would be the student who starts doing all the work at the last 2 weeks of the quarter or the semester. I always had a way to pull it off and get a C.Once gradation came everything started to go alright. I knew I was done with the video yearbook, baseball and all the other things I did in high school. Then the non-school problems happened. Most of my friends, who did all their homework, got good grades, and went away to college, my girlfriend and I broke up, my car died, and my mom was sick. Things seemed to fall apart. When my mom got sick I was scared. I don't know how to live without her. Most of my friends we're gone so, I really had no one to talk to when I needed it. All I had left at the time was my family, a few of my friends, and my girlfriend who I loved without measure. We we're known as the cutest couple ever. Everyone knew us. We never got mad at each other, until we did for a week non-stop. We both thought it be necessary to break up. I lost it. She knew I needed her at that time. My mom was battling a sickness, my friends we're gone, and now the girl who would be known as my high...
