Mississippi is a state were most of my ancestors was brought and sold as slaves to work,
build, and grow crops for the whites. Not only did they work so hard under extreme conditions,
they were also slaughtered, rapped, and murdered in cold blood like animals no one should have
to go through something like that it’s just not human. I can’t say that this was a fair trial due to
the fact that they were kidnapped from their own country sold out by their own people because
of horses, clothes, and eventually money when it was created. This tragic outcome from the past
keeps me alert about the way the world is today.
Trying to implement Africans to work consistently often made slaves think of reasons to
run away. Even though they tried and tried most slaves were either caught, killed on sight,
brought back, to work even harder without any breaks. Some slaves were lucky and escaped with their lives.
Over the years as slaves got older and stronger the master decided to cut off the legs of the slaves
who caused problems at the plantation many slaves became sick so they couldn’t work as much,
later died because they didn’t receive the medical treatments they needed desperately to keep
them healthy. Slave owners used to kill the black man in front of his family, and kill mothers
who were caring kids because they were over populating the whites.
The Mississippi river is the largest river in the United States travelers from all over
traveled on this river and still today people travel among this very river. This is how people
bring goods from one state to another especially when it comes to slave trading. Slave trading
was a very simple task steal the slave and trade him/her for crops, clothing, and cattle.
I often tell myself that this was impossible, but it was definitely real.
Slavery was a big impact in Mississippi because everything was one sided white was
power and black was a necessary evil not knowing why this happened the way it did, but it’s the
