A Mother’s milk unlocks the magic
Milk, a tasty drink of creamy white deliciousness, a cookie can’t wait to be dunked into.
In this advertisement, Oreo describes itself as milk’s favorite cookie. The milk which Oreo has
chosen to represent its cookie, is not your typical milk from a dairy cow. Oreo is actually
referring to a mother’s milk. The advertisement was designed by Cheil Worldwide; who has
created an inspirational advertisement, using a clever pitch, and descriptive photo. This ad was
never intended to be released to the public, due to negative views on public breastfeeding. While
combining milk and cookies is nothing new, this advertisement definitely shakes things up ...view middle of the document...
Milk and cookies go together like bread and butter, or pancakes and syrup,
and this baby knows that even at six months old. With that thought in mind some may see this
advertisement and laugh out loud finding it quite hysterical like I did, while others find its humor
Therefore, we have all heard, just because something is considered funny or natural to
some, doesn’t make it is funny and natural to everyone. While some people may see the humor
in this ad, it may have others saying it as too fleshy because In the photo all that’s seen is a
faceless woman, with her breast hanging out for the world to see. Some may say if the mothers
face was shown or she was partially covered, using a blanket to hide her chest, it would make it
more acceptable. But that is exactly what’s wrong with the way people view breastfeeding in the
world today. People who breastfeed are not accepted as normal, they are seen as gross which is
wrong. These women are judged as if on trial from the moment they begin to feed their child. It
is so bad that in some states there are laws, against the exposure of a women’s nipple during
breastfeeding. This advertisement is making a statement to the public, saying we have had
enough, stop judging mothers who are doing what God intended, by naturally breastfeeding their
child. This photo may not have been intended to send that message, but it does. It is not only
telling us it ok to breastfeed in public, but its inspiring new mothers to do so as well.
Furthermore, sometimes when we least expect it our work inspires people. This
advertisement which was never intended to be published, has inspired me to write this paper.
Inspiration is what humans crave. If Albert Einstein hadn’t been inspired by math, he wouldn’t
have created electricity, thus leaving us all in the dark. This photo by Cheil Worldwide continues
to be a inspirational secret never seen by the public. The critiques, who keep this sensational
advertisement hidden from newsstands, and magazines over the world, don’t realize the
importance of a photograph of this nature. This advertisement is inspiring to mothers and should
be distributed. Oreo may think it will lose the integrity it strives for within its audience, but the
truth is it will benefit Oreo to have mother’s on its side. Let’s face it Oreo is selling a product
that is full of sugar and not so healthy for kids. But, according to Kraft, Oreos partnering
Company this advertisement was never even intended to be released. However, it should not be
forgotten, the public deserves the right to see it. They deserve to gain the same inspiration, as
those in South Korea who seen it in a onetime advertising forum. It is unfortunate that Oreo
didn’t distribute this advertisement to market their product. They could have sold millions of
cookies, while inspiring young mothers to make a...
